MENGKONSTRUK MULTIKULTURALISME PENDIDIKAN DI TENGAH ARUS GLOBALISASI

Abstract

The global challenges faced in the future are getting tougher. Therefore,
constructing multiculturalism in globalization is something that cannot be avoided.
This qualitative research with literature study will discuss the constructs of
multiculturalism in globalization, both in the world of education and others. The
data analysis technique uses content analysis by sorting out data according to the
research objectives. This paper finds three things as follows. First, individual and
group differences in terms of culture, religion, race, ethnicity, nation, and the like
are an undeniable necessity of life. Second, understanding the concepts and ideas
of multiculturalism in today's global currents should be improved, both in the world
of education and other fields. Third, the ability of individuals and groups to
construct multiculturalism is the main resource for the success of the ideals
contained in multiculturalism itself. Because the higher the ability of individuals
and groups in constructing multiculturalism in society, the higher the patterns of
thinking, attitudes, and actions that lead to the goals and ideals of multiculturalism in question. On the other hand, the lower the ability of individuals and groups to
construct multiculturalism in society, the lower the mindset, attitudes, and actions
that lead to the goals and ideals of multiculturalism will be.
